Documentary to a research brief

Move between the overview and the evidence

The summary is built from the transcript. Chapters divide a longer recording into navigable topics, while the original wording remains available for detail checks and follow-up questions.

Questions before you start

What does the video summarizer produce?

It can produce a short overview, a list of key points and chapters alongside a timestamped transcript. Select the outputs you need before processing.

Is this summary based on audio or images?

This tool summarizes captions or transcribed speech. It does not infer visible actions from words alone. Use Video to Script or Video to Prompt for visual analysis.

Can I summarize an uploaded recording?

Yes. Upload a recording or use a supported video URL. File and duration limits depend on the active account and service.

Can I choose the summary language?

Yes. Set the summary language separately from the spoken language. This lets you keep the source transcript and read the overview in another supported interface language.

How do chapters help with a long video?

Chapters group related speech into topics with timestamps. They help you locate a section without treating the short overview as a replacement for every detail.

Can I turn the summary into a script?

Use the follow-up panel to request a new script based on the transcript. Specify the audience, length and intended message; generated adaptations are new writing, not quotes from the source.

Why is the transcript ready but the summary missing?

Transcription and summary are separate stages. A login, credit or model error can prevent the summary even after the transcript succeeds. The result panel explains the missing output.

Do follow-up questions transcribe the video again?

No. The question panel uses the completed transcript as context. A chat response uses its model allowance or credits without starting another video transcription task.

Bring the source. Leave with a starting point.

Add a video link or upload a file, choose the output, and continue working with the result.
